Terrance Kummer, MD, PhD

Terrance T. Kummer is an Assistant Professor of Neurology at Washington University School of Medicine, a clinical neurointensivist, and the Director of the Neurotrauma ICU at Barnes Jewish Hospital. Dr. Kummer’s laboratory focuses on identifying and measuring the key loci of cellular damage in traumatic brain injury and Alzheimer disease with a particular interest in synaptic and other forms of CNS gray matter injury that may connect the two. Dr. Kummer completed his MD and PhD degrees at Washington University where he studied synaptic development at the neuromuscular junction, and his neurological and neurocritical care training at Harvard Medical school.
