Greg Van Stavern, MD

Dr. Van Stavern is a neuro-ophthalmologist. He does clinical neuro-ophthalmology, and performs clinical research as well. He is actively involved in teaching medical students as well as Neurology and Ophthalmology residents. He has won multiple teaching awards over his career and supervised numerous residents and medical students in a wide variety of research projects. His major research interests involveusing the visual system as a model to study neurologic diseases. More recently, he has focused on retinal imaging in pre-clinical Alzheimer’s disease, with the goal of identifying ocular biomarkers to serve as a screen for the early stages of AD.
